Job summary

The Chattanooga Area Regional Transportation Authority (CARTA) is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform maintenance, repair and modification of transit vehicles and automotive equipment. You will diagnose electrical systems, service brakes, HVAC and safety components in a busy shop environment.

Teamwork, safety compliance, and the ability to read work orders are essential. A high school diploma and 3+ years of automotive repair experience are required; some positions require Tennessee CDL

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent.
Three (3) or more years of recent and verifiable experience in automotive repair or a heavy equipment mechanic.

Responsibilities

Perform maintenance, repair and modifications of transit vehicles and automotive equipment.
Inspect and repair electrical units, brakes, steering, and other critical components.
Troubleshoot engines and related systems, and operate shop equipment.
Complete required records and paperwork for work performed.
Adhere to CARTA safety rules and training requirements.
