Job summary

The City of High Point is recruiting a Transit Customer Service Specialist to staff the transit terminal at 716 W Martin Luther King Jr Dr, High Point, NC. You will provide information to passengers, sell tickets, handle funds, distribute schedules, and assist operators with routing and directions.

You will monitor terminal activity, maintain facilities, answer calls, route complaints, handle lost-and-found, and ensure safety per OSHA and city policies.

Responsibilities

• Provides information and assistance to passengers boarding buses at the transit terminal.
• Sells tickets; receives, records and accounts for funds and makes change.
• Distributes schedules and route information, and provides directions to the public.
• Cleans and maintains terminal facilities.
• Assists transit operators with schedules and directions.
• Monitors buses in and out of the transit terminal.
• Provides security for passengers in the transit terminal areas.
• Acts as receptionist and performs clerical tasks.
• Answers in-coming telephone calls, provides information, receives, records, and routes complaints to appropriate personnel.
• Operates two-way radio to communicate messages to Transit Operators, Supervisors, and other transit personnel.
• Maintains "lost and found" service.
• Performs related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
• Ensures that all work is performed in accordance with OSHA and City Safety Standards and Policies.
