Job summary

LA Metro is seeking a seasoned project manager to supervise rail and bus facilities construction from initiation through closeout. You will manage schedules, budgets, and safety compliance while coordinating with contractors, consultants, and public agencies to ensure on-time delivery of complex infrastructure projects.

The role requires extensive experience in construction contracts, leadership of inspection teams, and strong written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field.
• Six years of relevant experience or three years of supervisory-level experience in the management of construction contracts, with tunneling, aerial/underground structures, and bridges preferred.
• California license requirements: valid CA driver license; State registration as a Professional Engineer or Architect preferred.
• Experience managing multiple contracts and coordinating with contractors, consultants, and public agencies.

Responsibilities

• Manage, drive, and monitor rail and bus facilities construction projects within schedule and budget.
• Oversee construction management consultants and supervise inspectors, engineers, and administrative staff.
• Monitor compliance with schedule, budget, technical, safety, and legal requirements.
• Collaborate with contractors, specialists, and lead agencies; report progress and budget to senior management.
• Review contract documents and assist with bid forms, pre-bid conferences, and change negotiations.
• Coordinate activities with Metro staff and other public agencies; resolve design and field construction problems.
• Attend progress meetings and prepare contract status reports; advise on content of manuals and policy improvements.
