Job summary

The Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA) is seeking a Project Engineer to administer and oversee large FTA-funded capital projects from planning through closeout. You will act as the owner’s representative, ensuring compliance with federal regulations, budget, and schedule while guiding multidisciplinary teams to successful project delivery.

Ideal candidates will have a Civil Engineering degree and at least five years’ experience supervising engineers or consultants, with a strong focus on

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with 5 years of PE leadership experience.
• Experience supervising engineers and consultants on major capital projects.
• Familiarity with FTA, NEPA, Buy America, and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee planning, design, and construction of large FTA-funded capital projects.
• Act as owner's representative to ensure scope, schedule, budget, and quality compliance.
• Coordinate with departments, consultants, and regulators throughout project lifecycle.
• Prepare technical deliverables, cost estimates, and progress reports.
• Provide leadership on risk, safety, and asset performance goals.
• Ensure adherence to federal and local standards and regulations.
