Job summary

MBTA in Boston seeks an Electrical Project Manager to lead capital delivery from inception to completion, overseeing design and construction contracts and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in electrical/mechanical engineering or related field, 5+ years in transit/rail or power projects over $20M, and strong contract, estimating, and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical/mechanical engineering, construction management, or related field.
• 5+ years managing transit/railroad electrical/power infrastructure projects over $20M.
• 1 year supervisory/leadership experience.
• Experience managing contracts, cost control, scheduling, and project controls.
• Ability to supervise diverse professional staff and teams.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Willingness to work all shifts and locations as required.

Responsibilities

• Manage the project’s technical and financial directions and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Administer professional service, design and construction contracts; negotiate contracts and amendments.
• Establish initial budgets, cost estimates, and cash flow projections.
• Serve as MBTA’s main contact with consultants or contractors.
• Ensure work complies with MBTA Manuals and directives; manage project controls.
