Job summary

City of Fayetteville, North Carolina's FAST Transit is hiring a Transit Operator to drive city buses seven days a week, with hours 4:55 AM to 10:30 PM Mon-Sat and 8:30 AM to 7:30 PM Sun. You will be responsible for safe operation and great customer service.

The role requires a valid NC Class B CDL with air brakes and passenger endorsements, a current DOT medical card, a clean driving record, and a high school diploma or equivalent. Training and a pre-employment screening are part of the process.

Qualifications

• Six months of bus operation experience or ELDT program completed within last six months.
• Acceptable driving record according to City standards.
• DOT Medical Card and NC Class B CDL with air brakes and passenger endorsements.

Responsibilities

• Safety: operate bus safely and protect passengers.
• Provide customer service and collect fares.
• Maintain schedule adherence and reliable route service.
