Job summary

Golden Empire Transit District is seeking a Mechanic D to repair and maintain gasoline, CNG, hydrogen fuel cell, and battery-electric buses and related equipment in accordance with district procedures. Expect to work under the Maintenance Manager with no direct supervision, ensuring safety and reliability of the fleet.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid California Driver’s License with a clean record and at least three years of driving experience; prior bus/mechanic

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid California Driver’s License with acceptable driving record and three years of driving experience.
• Prior auto/bus vehicle mechanic work is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain CNG, Hydrogen fuel cell, and gasoline powered buses and other assigned transportation equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance and simple heavy duty mechanical work.
• Inspect shop equipment and report unsafe equipment to a supervisor.
• Maintain and record vehicle maintenance electronically and communicate with drivers and dispatchers to support bus operations.
