Job summary

The New Orleans Regional Transit Authority seeks a Mechanic to perform corrective repairs and preventive maintenance on transit buses and vehicles. You will read maintenance manuals and electrical diagrams, use diagnostic tools, and work with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of recent, verifiable mechanic experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid CDL Class A with a P endorsement is required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses problems across transit bus systems.
• Performs wheel alignments and repairs on brakes, air conditioning, and powertrain components.
• Conducts preventive maintenance and keeps maintenance logs.
• Maintains and interprets electrical diagrams and maintenance manuals.
• Contributes to enforcing EEO policies.
