Job summary

University of Minnesota Physicians in Minneapolis is seeking a full-time ABP board certified/eligible clinical pathologist with transfusion medicine/blood banking expertise. The successful candidate will join a team of pathologists and assume a leadership role in the Blood Bank, with opportunities in education and scholarly activity.

The appointment includes academic time and a commitment to teaching medical students, residents and fellows within a large academic health system, with salary

Qualifications

• MD or equivalent degree and eligibility for Minnesota medical licensure.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited pathology residency and a transfusion medicine/blood banking fellowship.
• Board certification or board eligibility in CP or AP/CP and blood bank/transfusion medicine.
• Demonstrated ability in teaching and scholarly productivity.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Blood Bank laboratory and participate in apheresis and cell therapy services.
• Sign-out responsibilities, on-call duties, and supervision of residents and fellows with conferences.
• Collaborate with the transfusion medicine division and Fairview Health System.
• Pursue academic work and participate in education of medical students, residents, and fellows.
