Job summary

The Department of Pathology at the University of New Mexico Hospital is seeking an open-rank clinician-educator in the Transfusion Medicine Division. The successful applicant will receive an academic appointment at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine and opportunities for laboratory directorships.

Candidates should have strong knowledge in transfusion medicine, including therapeutic apheresis, stem cell collection, and immunohematology, with teaching responsibilities for residents,

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required.
• ABP board certification or eligible in Clinical Pathology and Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine.
• Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in New Mexico.
• Three or more years in transfusion medicine and teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical coverage and educational responsibilities within the Transfusion Medicine Division.
• Lead and participate in didactics and service-related teaching for residents, fellows, and medical students.
• Collaborate with TriCore Reference Laboratories for medical oversight and quality programs.
