The Role

We are seeking a Transfusion Medicine Business Development Manager for the Gulf Region. This front-line, quota-carrying role involves selling Transfusion Medicine products within a designated geographic territory. The responsibilities include acquiring, converting, implementing, and retaining key accounts, working closely with Account Managers, Technical Specialists, and Strategic Account Executives. The territory covers South Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, and Tennessee.

The Responsibilities
  • Convert new and competitive accounts by demonstrating product value and managing sales opportunities to close deals.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on all competitive instrumentation.
  • Expand business within existing Transfusion Medicine accounts and support renewal processes.
  • Drive instrument placements within the assigned territory.
  • Develop and execute strategic territory plans to meet sales quotas and KPIs.
  • Collaborate with Strategic Account Executives on planning activities.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders, manage customer touchpoints, and leverage strategic selling frameworks.
  • Assist with transition planning for new customers and coordinate with Account Managers.
  • Work with technical teams and Inside Sales to target non-standardized IDNs.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts and activity reports via CRM, collaborating with Marketing to identify opportunities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
The Individual

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum 5 years of healthcare sales experience, with knowledge of B2B and distribution sales
  • Strong business development, marketing, and data analysis skills
  • Solid knowledge of the Transfusion Medicine market
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Strategic thinking and ability to translate strategies into actionable plans
  • Proven results in a fast-paced, independent environment
  • Commercial acumen and ability to analyze financial data
  • Excellent presentation and negotiation skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to uphold and support company values
  • Willingness to travel up to 70%

Preferred:

  • 7+ years of healthcare sales experience, especially in hospital or physician office labs
  • Blood Bank (SBB) Certification
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Proven performance at QuidelOrtho or similar roles for 3+ years
Key Working Relationships

Collaborate with distribution partners, marketing, Customer Enablement, field sales, and technical teams. Interact with Sales Leadership, Specialty Sales, Sales Administration, and other organizational units as needed.

The Work Environment

Primarily outside sales in a home-office setting. Must have discipline and self-motivation to work remotely.

The Physical Demands

Must be able to travel up to 70%, maintain a valid driver’s license, and lift up to 25 pounds. Requires good vision, manual dexterity, and the ability to stand, walk, sit, and reach as needed.

Salary Transparency

The salary range is $94,000 to $140,000, plus incentive compensation. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k), paid time off, and more. Compensation is dependent on experience and other factors.
