The Role

As we continue to grow as QuidelOrtho, we are seeking a Transfusion Medicine Business Development Manager in the Gulf Region. This position is a front-line quota-carrying team member responsible for selling Transfusion Medicine product lines within a geographic territory. The role involves acquiring, converting, implementing, and adopting new and competitive accounts, as well as retaining high-value strategic current customers by collaborating with Account Managers, Technical Specialists, and Strategic Account Executives. This is a field-based role covering the Gulf Region, including South Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, and Tennessee.

The Responsibilities

  • Converts competitive/new customer accounts by establishing personal accountability, illustrating QuidelOrtho's value propositions, demonstrating product capabilities, and managing opportunities to close.
  • Acts as the subject matter expert for all competitive instrumentation and shares insights with the team.
  • Expands business within Transfusion Medicine accounts and remains involved through the renewal process.
  • Drives instrument placements within the assigned territory.
  • Develops and executes strategic territory plans to prioritize, pursue, and convert accounts to meet sales quotas and KPIs.
  • Collaborates with Strategic Account Executives on IDN-related planning activities.
  • Builds relationships with key stakeholders and manages opportunities based on the customer's buying cycle, leveraging strategic selling frameworks.
  • Assists with transition planning for new customers and coordinates with Account Managers.
  • Partners with technical teams and Inside Sales to target and convert stand-alone, non-standardized IDNs.
  • Provides timely sales forecasts, activity logs, and account updates via CRM and collaborates with Marketing for equipment placement opportunities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

The Individual

Note: Candidates must meet Customer Credentialing requirements, which may include immunizations, and accommodations will be provided where lawful.

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years sales experience in Healthcare, with knowledge of B2B and distribution sales.
  • Strong business development, strategic marketing, and data analysis skills.
  • Market knowledge in Transfusion Medicine.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.
  • Strategic thinking and ability to translate strategies into actionable plans.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Business acumen and ability to analyze financial data and develop strategies.
  • Excellent presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to uphold and support company values.
  • Travel up to 70% required.

Preferred qualifications include 7+ years of healthcare sales experience, prior hospital or lab sales experience, SBB certification, proficiency in MS Office, and internal candidates with proven performance.

Key relationships include collaboration with distribution partners, marketing, customer enablement, field sales, and technical specialists.

The Work Environment

Primarily outside sales in a typical environment. Must have discipline and self-motivation to work remotely from home.

The Physical Demands

Must be able to travel up to 70%, maintain a valid driver’s license, and operate a vehicle. Must lift up to 25 pounds and have specific vision abilities. The role involves frequent use of hands, talking, and hearing, with standing, walking, and sitting required periodically.

Salary Transparency

The salary range is $94,000 to $140,000, based on various factors including experience and location. It is eligible for incentives, and comprehensive benefits are provided.
