Job summary

Forgent seeks a Mechanical Engineering Manager in Waco, TX to lead the mechanical design and drafting for our liquid-filled transformer product line. You will own mechanical integrity, manufacturability, and continuous improvement of transformer designs, including tanks, radiators, core/coil structures, and bushings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Minimum of 6 years of engineering experience in transformer design or related field; liquid-filled transformer experience preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of people leadership experience required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee mechanical engineering function to deliver high-quality, manufacturable designs.
• Manage and mentor a team of engineers and drafters.
• Drive design standards, processes, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain and Sourcing.
• Lead problem-solving for design, manufacturing, and field issues.
• Foster growth and accountability through talent development.
