Job summary

Forgent Power Solutions, Inc. in Waco, Texas, seeks a Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead the mechanical design and drafting for our liquid-filled transformer product line.

The role blends hands-on technical ownership with people leadership, guiding tanks, radiators, core/coil structures, bushings, and hardware while developing a growing team of drafters and engineers. You will partner with manufacturing, quality, electrical engineering, and supply chain to deliver safe, reliable transformers

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years in transformer design or related field.
• Experience with liquid-filled power or distribution transformers strongly preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of people leadership experience.
• Experience designing tanks, radiators, core/coil structures, bushings is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the mechanical engineering function and ensure manufacturable designs.
• Develop and mentor a team of engineers and drafters.
• Drive design standards, processes, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Sourcing to align with production and cost.
• Lead problem-solving for design, manufacturing, and field issues.
