Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking an Engineering Tools & Design Automation Engineer to transform transformer components design, configuration, and delivery. You will help develop and maintain engineering configurators, automation tools, and digital workflows across our North America Transformer Components business.

You will collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, product management, and IT to standardize practices, capture knowledge, and drive continuous improvement in design to value, efficiency,

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor’s degree in a technical field and experience with engineering software tools and configuration platforms.
• Experience implementing design automation and digital engineering workflows.
• Knowledge of CAD, PLM, ERP systems and related data management practices.
• Proficiency in programming or scripting languages such as Python, C#, VBA, SQL, JavaScript.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance engineering configurators, design automation tools, and digital engineering apps.
• Create and maintain product rules, calculations, configuration logic, and automated workflows.
• Collaborate with experts to translate design requirements into scalable digital solutions.
• Improve engineering productivity via automation and standardization.
• Support integration of tools with CAD, PLM, ERP, and other enterprise systems.
• Validate and test applications to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Develop technical docs and training materials for users.
