Hitachi Energy seeks an Engineering Tools & Design Automation Engineer to transform how transformer components are designed, configured, and delivered. You will develop, maintain, and improve engineering configurators, automation tools, and digital engineering processes for our North America Transformer Components business.

You will collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, product management, and IT teams to standardize design practices and capture critical knowledge in scalable digital

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering or related).
• Experience with engineering software tools, configurators, or design automation systems.
• Experience with CAD, PLM, ERP, or engineering configuration platforms.
• Programming or scripting with Python, C#, VBA, SQL, JavaScript, or similar.
• Ability to translate engineering requirements into digital solutions.

Responsabilités

• Develop, maintain, and enhance engineering configurators and design automation tools.
• Create and maintain product rules, configuration logic, engineering databases, templates, and automated workflows.
• Collaborate with product experts to capture knowledge for scalable digital solutions.
• Improve engineering productivity through automation and standardization.
• Integrate tools with CAD, PLM, ERP, and other enterprise systems.
• Validate and test applications for accuracy and reliability.
• Develop technical documentation and user guides for engineering systems.
• Provide training and technical support to engineering teams.
• Support NPI activities by deploying new products into configuration systems.
• Contribute to DtV initiatives through standardization and cost-reduction projects.
• Drive continuous improvement of engineering processes and data quality.
• Stay current with AI-enabled design tools and digital engineering methodologies.
• Develop long-term digital engineering roadmaps and best practices.
