Job summary

Hitachi Energy USA INC in Alamo, Tennessee, is seeking an Engineering Tools & Design Automation Engineer to advance engineering configurators, design automation tools, and digital engineering processes across transformer components.

You’ll collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, product management, and IT to standardize design practices, capture knowledge, and drive automation, DtV, and NPI initiatives for faster, more reliable product development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical discipline.
• Experience developing, supporting, or enhancing engineering software tools, configurators, automation systems, or technical applications.
• Experience with CAD, PLM, ERP, product data management, or engineering configuration platforms.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate engineering requirements into digital solutions.
• Ability to work across engineering, manufacturing, IT, and business functions.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance engineering configurators, design automation tools, and digital engineering applications used across the transformer components portfolio.
• Create and maintain product rules, calculations, configuration logic, engineering databases, templates, and automated workflows.
• Collaborate with product experts to capture engineering knowledge and translate design requirements into scalable solutions.
• Improve engineering productivity through automation, standardization, digitalization, and process improvement initiatives.
• Support NPI and DtV initiatives by deploying new products and knowledge into configuration and automation systems.
