Job summary

Innomotics in Kansas City, MO is seeking a Transformer Winder to join our team. You will wind, insulate and connect transformer components, and work with CNC winding equipment to repair and rebuild windings.

This role requires manual dexterity, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to read electrical diagrams and follow safety protocols. You will become a member of the local collective bargaining unit, operate shop tools and cranes, and contribute to electrical testing and final assembly.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in transformer repair, motor winding, or related electrical apparatus work.
• Completion of a High School Diploma
• Advanced electrical aptitude and working knowledge of tools
• Ability to read electrical diagrams and technical drawings
• Ability to safely work with heavy components using cranes and lifting equipment

Responsibilities

• Wind and assemble transformer coils including low-voltage and high-voltage windings.
• Perform manual winding and/or operate CNC winding equipment.
• Install insulation systems and diagnose winding failures.
• Reverse engineer winding configurations and insulation from existing equipment.
