Job summary

Prolec-GE Waukesha, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Designer to maintain mechanical design bases for transformer layouts and provide technical expertise to customers.

The role involves reviewing project specifications, updating design data, and utilizing engineering programs to ensure accurate layouts. Responsibilities include completing transformer designs, calculating dimensions, and supporting the design team with planning, corrective actions, and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in mechanical drafting or a related field is required.
• Experience with PTC Creo is required.

Responsibilities

• Complete transformer mechanical design including internal and external layout of components and accessories.
• Calculate dimensions, allowances, and specifications per standard procedures.
• Provide technical support and training of others.
• Assist in planning and scheduling of the design and detailing processes.
• Direct or execute corrective action when shop problems are encountered.
• Assist on development projects as requested by supervisor.
• Develop new procedures to improve design/d detailing efficiency.
• Provide support to Quote Designers with bid outlines and optimization.
