Job summary

E4A Solutions in Houston, TX, seeks a Transformer Field Assembly Technician to install, inspect, test, and commission medium to high-voltage transformers at customer sites. You’ll collaborate with engineers and vendors to ensure transformer integrity and performance.

This role requires hands-on field assembly, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to travel up to 70%, including overnight stays. OSHA/ CDL-A preferred; experience with OLTCs is a plus.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of field service experience in transformer assembly or related heavy industrial equipment.
• High school diploma or technical trade school; Associate degree preferred.
• OSHA 10/30-hour certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Experience with OEM equipment (ABB, Siemens, GE) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and install power transformers and accessories.
• Perform oil processing and vacuum filling.
• Maintenance on OLTCs and related components.
• Assist testing under supervision of field engineers.
• Complete documentation and field reports.
• Interface with clients, OEMs, and site contractors.
• Operate lifting and rigging equipment safely.
• Support dismantling/removal of existing units.
