Job summary

Spokane International Academy in Spokane, WA is seeking a Special Education teacher for grades 8-12. The role provides SDI aligned with IEPs, case management, and collaboration to support students with disabilities in rigorous coursework.

The position emphasizes data-informed instruction, teamwork with general education staff, and adherence to IDEA and Washington state regulations. WA teacher certification required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field.
• Valid WA State Special Education Teaching Certificate.
• Experience with middle/high school students with disabilities.
• Knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring.
• Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide specially designed instruction aligned with student IEPs.
• Deliver services in individual, small-group, and inclusive classroom settings.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction based on data and student needs.
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in compliance with IDEA and Washington state regulations.
• Collaborate with families, staff, and service providers.
• Partner with general education teachers to support inclusive practices.
