Job summary

Westfield Washington School District is seeking a qualified Principal for Westfield Middle School East. The principal will oversee all teachers, school programs, and the collaborative planning of policies with staff, coordinating resources so every student achieves their best potential.

This leadership role reports to the Superintendent, is evaluated by the Superintendent, and requires an administrative license with middle school experience.

Qualifications

• Valid Administrative license and state requirements met.
• Experience for middle school teaching and administration preferred.
• Experience leading the PLC process preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain channels of communication of school policy and programs to staff, parents, and community.
• Keep the Superintendent informed about pertinent administrative matters.
• Strive to improve conditions under which children are educated.
• Organize and administer building policies and carry out district policies.
• Make class assignments and organize staff and building activities.
• Supervise clerical functions, records, and safety of funds and property.
• Prepare and submit reports required by Central Office.
• Evaluate teaching staff and recommend re-appointments and tenure.
• Assist in recruitment and assignment of building staff.
• Prepare requisitions and allocate supplies including texts.
• Foster good human relationships with children, teachers, and parents.
• Ensure extra-curricular activities are supervised.
• Be an active member of the district Guiding Coalition.
• Work with principals and district colleagues to commit deeply to PLCs.
