Job summary

Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton School District is seeking a caring High School Social Studies Long-Term Substitute Teacher to start on September 1 and go through October 20 (tentatively). The ideal candidate will have experience teaching grades 7-12, with a background working with at-risk students and experiential learning.

The position requires collaboration with colleagues, flexibility to differentiate instruction, and the ability to integrate district technologies to support learning.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Education required.
• PELSB License: 7-12 Social Studies.
• 125 Continuing Education Units every five years.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills.
• Collaborate and work with fellow teachers to provide the best growth and opportunities for students.
• Create a flexible, safe learning environment that is conducive to individualized and small group learning.
• Provide feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc.
• Document teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes.
• Understand and utilize district technologies to support learning for students.
• Other responsibilities assigned by the supervisor.
