Job summary

The successful candidate will plan instruction, maintain a productive classroom, and collaborate with staff, students and families while adhering to district policies and confidentiality requirements.

Qualifications

• Clear and concise oral and written communication with staff, students, and parents.
• Demonstrated solid content knowledge in the subject area.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Maintain confidentiality in policies and statutes.
• Classroom management and student safety are essential.

Responsibilities

• Follow all rules, policies and procedures, along with state and federal regulations pertaining to school issues.
• Plan a program of study that meets individual needs and aligns with guidelines.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to students.
• Guide the learning process toward curriculum goals and communicate objectives.
• Employ instructional methods and materials appropriate for objectives.
• Assess student progress and provide progress reports as required.
• Counsel with colleagues, students, and/or parents regularly.
• Assist administration in implementing policies and rules governing student life and conduct.
• Plan and supervise assignments for teacher assistants and evaluate their performance.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in school initiatives.
• Perform related duties as required by the Principal.
