Job summary

Abound Health is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Caregiver to support individuals with IDD in Pompton Lakes, NJ. You will assist with ADLs, community participation, and daily living tasks, while fostering independence and confidence.

Starting pay ranges from $23/hour (non‑acuity) to $33/hour (acuity) with a $1,000 signing bonus paid in installments. Paid onboarding, weekly pay, and opportunities for growth are included in a flexible schedule.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Valid driver’s license, current automotive insurance, and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass criminal record, driving record, and healthcare registry checks.
• Willingness to address personal care needs when necessary.
• Experience with individuals with disabilities is not required; paid training provided.

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships and support individuals in achieving personal goals.
• Assist with daily living activities such as meal preparation, hygiene, and household tasks.
• Support individuals in community participation, employment, and social activities.
• Use adaptive tools to aid learning and facilitate communication.
• Encourage independence and help individuals develop new skills.
• Monitor health and safety while maintaining a supportive environment.
• Communicate with Abound Health team members, families, and case managers as needed.
• Complete documentation and maintain schedules.
• Complete ongoing training and professional development.
