Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. seeks an assistant supervisor for our transfer station in Hartland, NY. You will help ensure safe, timely, and professional daily operations and direct incoming trucks to unloading areas for efficient production.

Responsibilities include opening/closing the facility, supervising truck movements, and maintaining cleanliness and safety compliance. A GED or equivalent is required, with exposure to facility operations preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience or training.
• SWANA Transfer Worker Certification desired within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Open and close facility according to scheduled hours of operation.
• Oversee the schedule of where and which trucks are to dump and the switching out of trailers.
• Operate site equipment to ensure safe, timely and professional operation of the transfer station.
• Keep public areas of the transfer station clean per daily/weekly/monthly schedules.
• Ensure customers use the transfer station according to safety rules and regulations.
• Oversee housekeeping and maintenance of the facility.
