Ashley Furniture HomeStore, the #1 Mattress and Furniture retailer in North America, has an immediate opening for a Transfer Driver. The ideal candidate is responsible for delivery from the distribution center to retail showrooms and vice versa.

Pay: $17 per hour

Key Job Responsibilities

• Loading product onto trucks for deliveries.
• Delivering and installing furniture in the customer’s home in a friendly, professional manner, including mattress removal when necessary.
• Providing excellent service during deliveries, set-up, and clean-up.
• Maximizing quality and efficiency scores to improve customer satisfaction ratings.
• Loading and unloading products using proper material handling techniques and equipment to minimize damages.
• Communicating with customers regarding issues.
• Examining and evaluating products for damages, documenting reasons for returns, and notifying supervisors of issues.
• Completing tasks, reports, and paperwork accurately and timely.
• Assisting with warehouse tasks, including driving a lift truck.
• Maintaining all safe work practices and rules.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Valid driver’s license, safe driving record, up-to-date DOT medical card.
• Ability to read maps and follow instructions.
• Heavy lifting required; may carry heavy merchandise upstairs.
• Maintain personal appearance per dress code.
• Must be 21 years or older.
• Work Tuesday through Saturday.
• Experience driving a 26-foot Box Truck preferred.
• Ability to move up to 50 lbs. with assistance.
• Ability to sustain heavy physical activity.
• Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, standing, walking.
• Work indoors/outdoors.

Physical Requirements

• Vision, hearing, speech capabilities.
• Extended seated position; repetitive tasks with hands.
• Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs. or more with assistance.
