Job summary

Viking Electric, part of the Sonepar group, is hiring a 2nd shift Non-CDL Transfer Driver in the Milwaukee area. You will perform local deliveries, handle pre-trip inspections, load materials, and assist in the warehouse.

The role emphasizes safety, customer service, and reliable evening routes. Requirements include a valid license, ability to lift up to 85 lbs, 1 year of related experience, and eligibility to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate delivery vehicles.
• Be at least 21 years old and able to lift up to 85 pounds.
• Pass and maintain DOT physical; basic math and basic English skills.
• 1 year of related experience or training; authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-trip vehicle inspections at start and end of route.
• Load materials and prepare for daily deliveries.
• Make local deliveries to Viking Electric locations and return home each night.
• Assist with unloading and warehouse duties as needed.
• Adhere to safety procedures and maintain courteous interactions with customers.

2nd shift Non-CDL Transfer Driver

Job type: Full Time

Vehicle Type: Box truck/straight truck

Hourly pay: $21.00/hr - $26.00/hr (Pay for experience) and $1.50/hr 2nd shift differential

Distance: Local deliveries - return home each night

As a Non CDL Transfer Driver, you play a vital role in delivering essential electrical products from our warehouse to our valued customers. Each day begins with a thorough pre-trip inspection of your delivery vehicle, followed by loading materials and packages to prepare for the day ahead. You will make local deliveries to other Viking Electric locations and assist with unloading. When the transfer route is complete, you will assist throughout the Warehouse where needed.

You will…

• Conduct vehicle inspections at the start and end of your route
• Transport and deliver products with care
• Unload items such as wire, pipe, conduit, and boxes during deliveries
• Adhere to all safety procedures and regulations
• Maintain a friendly and courteous demeanor with customers

What You Bring

Requirements:

• Valid driver’s license
• Be at least 21 years old
• Ability to climb into and drive delivery vehicles
• Ability to lift packages that could weigh up to 85 pounds
• Ability to pass and maintain Department of Transportation (DOT) physical
• Basic math skills (add and subtract numbers)
• Basic English communication skills
• Willingness to learn how to operate equipment (we provide training)
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without VISA sponsorship now or in the future
• 1 year of related experience and/or training
