Job summary

Bray & Scarff is seeking a Transfer Driver to safely move major appliances between stores, the warehouse, and other sites. This hourly role involves loading, securing, transporting, and unloading merchandise while maintaining inventory accuracy and product care.

You will work with store and warehouse teams to keep merchandise moving, verify transfer paperwork, document conditions, and adhere to safety protocols. A valid driver’s license and strong teamwork are essential.

Job Summary:

The Transfer Driver is responsible for the safe and accurate transfer of major household appliances between store locations, the warehouse, and other company sites. This hourly role handles loading, securing, transporting, and unloading merchandise while maintaining high standards of safety, inventory accuracy, and product care. Transfer Drivers work closely with store and warehouse teams to keep inventory moving where it is needed and ensure merchandise is handled with care from pickup to drop off.

Essential Duties:

• Load, secure, transport, and unload major appliances safely and efficiently between store locations and the warehouse
• Complete scheduled transfer routes and daily pickup and drop off runs on time
• Verify model numbers, serial numbers, quantities, and transfer paperwork at pickup and drop off
• Inspect merchandise for damage before loading and after unloading, and document any issues
• Use dollies, hand trucks, straps, moving blankets, and liftgates to protect product in transit
• Assist with staging, organizing, and putting away transferred merchandise at the warehouse and stores as needed
• Coordinate pickup and drop off times with store and warehouse staff
• Communicate delays or schedule changes to the Delivery Manager and receiving locations
• Obtain required signatures and complete transfer documentation in Dispatch Track and inventory systems as directed
• Take required photos of product condition at pickup and drop off
• Ensure safe driving practices and compliance with all transportation laws
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain transfer truck, equipment, protective gear, and tools
• Communicate professionally with store associates, warehouse staff, and other drivers
• Escalate issues related to safety, inventory discrepancies, or product damage
• Communicate effectively with any concerns with company provided vehicles with Fleet Management, both cosmetic and mechanical
• Accurately record hours worked and follow company timekeeping and break policies
• Follow established company procedures and safety protocols
• Complete additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Experience in appliance delivery, warehouse, moving, or logistics preferred; box truck experience a plus
• Ability to safely lift and maneuver large appliances with appropriate equipment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Valid driver license with clean driving record
• Ability to follow transfer routes, schedules, and paperwork requirements
• Attention to detail when verifying inventory, model numbers, and product condition
• Strong commitment to safety and accuracy

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver heavy appliances with assistance and appropriate equipment
• Frequent bending, pushing, pulling, climbing in and out of trucks, and use of liftgates
• Ability to work in warehouse, store, loading dock, and outdoor environments in varying weather conditions
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods and drive for extended periods between locations

• Work is performed in transfer trucks, warehouse settings, store locations, and loading docks
• Fast paced environment with physical demands
