Job summary

Freeman Health System's Transfer Center Nurse at Freeman West is a part-time night shift role focused on safe patient transfers, bed placement, and collaboration with referring facilities.

The position requires RN or LPN with BLS, 2–5 years acute care; BSN preferred; ACLS a plus. You will coordinate admissions, document in EHR, and ensure EMTALA and HIPAA compliance while supporting clinicians during transitions.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Active, unencumbered RN or LPN license in state of practice.
• BLS certification required.
• BSN preferred; ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transfer coordination and bed placement coordination with referring facilities.
• Clinical triage to assess patient acuity and urgency.
• Liaison between sending and receiving teams; ensure compliant handoffs.
• Documentation in EHR and transfer-tracking systems; EMTALA/HIPAA adherence.
