Job summary

Pfeiffer University is seeking a Transfer Admissions Counselor to join the undergraduate admissions office. The role involves recruiting students, counseling applicants, and reviewing applications as part of the enrollment team on the Misenheimer campus in North Carolina.

As a full-time staff member, you will travel within Central North Carolina, participate in college fairs and high school visits, and represent Pfeiffer University with a student-centered approach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Ability to travel and to load/transport admissions materials, displays and other equipment.
• Some evening and weekend hours required, especially during travel season.
• Strong cross-cultural interpersonal and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Represent the University on and off campus to prospective students, parents, counselors and others involved in the college selection process.
• Attend college fairs and high school visits.
• Plan and implement recruitment activities for assigned high schools and territories, including travel.
• Counsel prospective applicants on the admissions process and opportunities at Pfeiffer University.
• Conduct one-on-one admissions counseling via in-person appointments, phone, email and text.
• Review files submitted by applicants to make admission decisions and manage ongoing communications.
• Territory includes Central North Carolina; travel as required.

Recruit students, perform counseling, external outreach and application review are all significant functions of this position. This position will serve as a key team member of the admissions department and represent Pfeiffer in a positive manner at all times. This is a full-time, 12-month, exempt, staff position.**Duties and Responsibilities:*** Represent the University both on and off campus to prospective students, parents, secondary school counselors and other individuals or organizations involved in the college selection process.* Attend college fairs and high school visits* Plan and implement recruitment activities for assigned high schools and territories, including travel in assigned territories.* Counsel prospective applicants on the admissions process and opportunities at the University.* One-on-one admissions counseling. Admissions counseling occurs primarily by in-person appointments, phone calls, emails and texts.* Review files submitted by applicants for the purposes of making admission decisions.
