Job summary

The State of Georgia, through the Georgia Student Finance Commission, seeks a detail-oriented Transcript Specialist I to support HOPE Scholarship and Grant programs. You will handle high school and postsecondary transcript processing, eligibility evaluations, and provide front-line support to schools and colleges.

This role emphasizes data accuracy, system support for STARS, CHECS, and GAfutures, and responsive customer service via phone, email, and web-based channels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or equivalent experience.
• 1+ year experience in student records, financial aid, or eligibility processing.
• Strong customer service experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary point of contact for High School Transcript processes (STARS/TES) and Postsecondary Eligibility systems (CHECS/PSI).
• Provide front-line customer support to high schools and postsecondary institutions regarding HOPE and Zell Miller scholarship and grant eligibility requirements.
• Respond to inquiries via phone, email, and web-based systems, ensuring timely, accurate, and professional communication.
• Transcript & Data Processing: review, evaluate, and process high school and postsecondary transcript data for accuracy and completeness.
• Identify, investigate, and resolve data discrepancies, file errors, and rejected records.
• Perform data corrections and updates in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Provide support for manual processing of out-of-state or home study transcripts.
• System Support (STARS & CHECS) and GAfutures functions.
