Job summary

Expeditors in the Chicagoland area seeks an Operations professional to monitor shipments, ensure data integrity, and drive on-time performance.

You will collaborate with management and coordinate with Expeditors offices worldwide, communicating clearly with customers via email, phone, and meetings.

A background in domestic operations, strong MS Office skills, and excellent communication are essential; a customer-service mindset is valued.

Qualifications

• Chicagoland area knowledge required.
• Six months to one year related experience in Domestic operations.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong MS Office skills including Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote.
• Professional attitude and customer service history.
• Great attitude and compliments from customers and coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Understand department process flow and look for best practices to improve operational efficiency and productivity.
• Collaborating with management.
• Monitoring shipments in transit daily to ensure data integrity and KPI adherence.
• Communicate effectively with customers, Expeditor’s offices worldwide, and coworkers.
• Status Reports sent out daily to customers; delays are notated with reasons for the delay.
• Escalation of problems to Management when necessary.
• Promote compliance in diligently following all company policies and regulations and performing the task at hand with outstanding integrity and pride.
• Always meet compliance to regulations internal and external in accordance with government regulations.

Job Description

• Understand department process flow and look for best practices to improve operational efficiency and productivity.
• Collaborating with management
• Monitoring shipments in transit (Outbound Workflow, etc.) daily to ensure the following:
  • Data integrity for events and references (APR, APT/XDD, RDL, SHI, SHR, etc.) are updated properly.
  • Customers shipments are delivering per KPI’s, RDL’s and SOP’s
  • Exceptions are managed and resolved immediately.
• Communicate effectively and timely with customers, Expeditor’s offices worldwide, and co-workers through high volume of email, phone, instant message, and in person.
  • Status Reports sent out daily to customers. Delays are notated with reasons for the delay.
• Escalation of problems to Management when necessary.
• Promote compliance in diligently following all company policies and regulations and performing the task at hand with outstanding integrity and pride.
• Always meet compliance to regulations internal and external in accordance with government regulations.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the Chicagoland area.
• Six months to one-year related experience in Domestic operations.
• Operations/Industry Knowledge preferred
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• A proven history of providing exceptional customer service at all levels
• Excellent organizational skills, time management skills in addition to a professional attitude
• Great attitude and background based on compliments from customers and coworkers
• Strong MS Office skills including Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote
• The position pays $20.00-$28.00 per hour based on experience and education
