As a Financial Accountant, you will oversee and manage transactional functions of Verbrec including Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable as well as the day-to-day administration of banking functions, ensuring transactional accounting entries are up to date and the accurate and timely preparation of month end journals and reconciliations.

The key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Oversee and manage AP and AR functions and perform bank administration and month end related tasks.
  • Management of AP function
    • Support the offshore AP team.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships and communication with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
    • Liaise with external suppliers and where required, with internal stakeholders, regarding supplier invoice queries.
  • Management of AR function
    • Manage and review AR tasks, including receipting and report.
    • Oversee and manage the invoice finance facility.
  • Bank and month end related tasks
    • Daily bank reconciliations and cash balance reporting.
    • Manage unreconciled bank items with AP and AR.
  • Management of other banking facilities, including equipment financing.
  • Assist with payroll reconciliations and employee related questions.
  • Other tasks as required to support the wider finance team.

To be successful you will have:

  • More than 2 years’ experience across bank administration, accounts payable and/or receivable functions
  • Previous finance systems experience ("Workday" is preferred).
  • Flexible and willingness to learn new skills and gain new experience.
  • Ability to analyse problems and initiate/ work towards solutions.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills.
