Job summary

WilmerHale is seeking a Business Development Manager for the Transactional Department. The role drives BD initiatives, coordinates with the Clients & Markets team, and leads pitches, market research, and tailored marketing materials to support new business and client engagement.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree preferred.
• Eight to ten years in legal or professional services marketing and business development preferred.
• At least three years of demonstrated people management experience required.
• Knowledge of corporate practice areas and deal types (M&A, Private Equity, Capital Markets/Debt Finance, VC) a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead business development projects and initiatives for the Transactional Department.
• Develop pitches, RFPs, and tailored marketing materials; oversee content quality.
• Maintain relationships with practice groups and offices; manage market research and analytics.
• Support thought leadership, events, and sponsorship decisions to maximize ROI.
• Mentor junior team members and oversee budgets and ROI assessments.
• Collaborate across departments to ensure high-quality client service and delivery.
