Job summary

Selene Finance LP is seeking an Associate Transaction Manager to support due diligence on new loan acquisitions, ongoing deal activity, and special projects. You will work across business units, interfacing with vendors and servicers, and helping identify process improvements.

The role requires at least 2 years in mortgage-related areas, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced team environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years mortgage experience across Credit, Compliance, Loan Origination, Underwriting Guidelines, Collateral, and contract administration.
• Willingness to learn and add value to existing processes.
• Familiarity with due diligence and loan sale/acquisition processes is a plus.
• Experience with servicing systems such as Black Knight/LPS, MSP is a plus.
• Strong problem solving, organization, and communication skills.
• Detail oriented with high quality, reliable work product.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic data manipulation skills through Excel (required) and SQL knowledge (a plus).

Responsibilities

• Assist with due diligence logistics for loan acquisitions and securitization processes; interface with vendors and counterparties.
• Collaborate with the Transaction Management team toward successful transaction execution.
• Work with internal teams and servicers to identify procedural changes and system enhancements; assist in implementation.
• Support all transaction activities while managing timelines, risk assessments, and counterparty communication.
• Help with various tasks and ad hoc projects as needed.

Position Description Selene Finance is seeking an Associate Transaction Manager who will assist with and manage a wide variety of duties during due diligence on new loan acquisitions, regular deal activity, and special projects and initiatives. The ideal candidate will work across several business units within the organization and requires some knowledge of new origination products (Non-QM, RTL, CES, HELOC). Qualified candidates will be flexible, results oriented, self-starters, who possess advanced communication, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and the willingness to learn. The ideal candidate must have an ability to work in a fast-paced team-centered environment and manage multiple competing priorities, while remaining productive, level-headed, and well-balanced.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the logistics of the due diligence and loan acquisition and securitization processes, including direct interface with vendors and other counterparties, and the review and assessment of loan-level factors.
• Work with the Transaction Management team toward successful transaction execution.
• Collaborate closely with internal teams and servicers to identify procedural changes and system enhancements where needed; recommend operational improvements and assist in implementation
• Assist with all aspects of transactions while maintaining a high level of organization, managing vendor and project timelines, performing risk assessments and escalating where needed, exuding confidence in day-to-day tasks such as leading conference calls and managing counterparty communication
• Assist the Transaction Management team with various tasks and ad hoc projects, as needed

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years mortgage experience in at least 3 or more of the following areas: Credit, Compliance, Loan Origination, Underwriting Guidelines, Collateral, and basic contract administration
• A demonstrated willingness to learn and add value to existing processes based on established work experience
• Familiarity with the various aspects of the due diligence, and loan sale/acquisition process is a plus
• Working knowledge of servicing systems, such as Black Knight/ LPS, MSP is a plus, but not required
• Solves problems with a sense of recognizing opportunities, understanding risks and acting quickly to overcome obstacles and reach a solution.
• Must be detail oriented and consistently maintain a high level of quality and accuracy in their work. Work product must be consistently reliable and accurate.
• Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision and effectively communicate (orally and in writing) with others, both internally and externally
• Ability to organize, prioritize and allocate workload for optimum efficiency
• Strong team player with a high level of professionalism
• Multi tasker in a constantly changing, fast paced environment
• Strong data manipulation skills through excel (required), SQL databases (a plus)
