Job summary

Citi in Kuala Lumpur seeks a Transaction Capture Analyst 2 to join our Operations - Transaction Services team. You will maintain fund registers, validate tax forms, perform reconciliation, and respond to internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely, accurate processing.

The role requires 4–5 years in transfer agency or TA operations, solid knowledge of TA products and workflows, and flexibility to work shifts in a global, risk-conscious environment. Hybrid work arrangement offered.

Qualifications

• At least 4-5 years TA experience.
• Strong knowledge in TA business, products and workflow.
• Familiarity with global markets – practices, regulations, industry trends.
• Strong technical skills including accounting principles and theories.
• Knowledge of operations for various funds (hedge, mutual, REITs, ABS).
• Detailed knowledge of business processes and procedures and controls.
• Flexible to work different shifts.
• Team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain record of the fund register and investors’ registration details.
• Ensure proper completion of account opening forms per FATCA/CRS; validate tax forms.
• Perform tax form validation and updates in GTAS, Paxus and FATCA engine.
• Perform signature verification to ensure authority to place orders.
• Issue monthly statements to investors and distribute securely.
• Perform daily end-of-day reconciliations of orders by type.
• Investigate discrepancies between collections and fund accounts.
• Provide solutions to reduce errors and ensure audit compliance.
• Provide back-up coverage for team during high-volume periods.
• Perform cash and trade reconciliation and send reports to Fund Managers.
• Respond to internal stakeholders (Fund Accounting, Middle Office, Cash, Settlements).
• Respond to external stakeholders (fund managers, auditors).
• Meet reporting deadlines and manage team effectively.
• Lead enhancement projects for cost savings.

Job Overview

Main Responsibilities

• Maintain record of the fund register and their investors’ registration details
• Ensure proper completion of account opening form, in accordance to Citi FATCA and CRS obligation, ensure US Tax form & CRS self certification are validated.
• Perform tax form validation and update in GTAS, Paxus and FATCA engine.
• Perform signature verification to ensure signer has authority to authorize place any order or request.
• Issue monthly statement to investor and should be distributed in secure manner via email/ Victor Buck System/ fax/ physical mail/TA core system.
• Perform daily day end reconcilement confirming number of order by type received and processed.
• Investigate, identify and escalate any discrepancy between the collection and fund account.
• Provide creative solutions to reduce errors and to ensure adherence to audit and control policies
• Provide back-up coverage for team members and assist team members during high volume periods.
• Perform Cash and trade reconciliation and send out reports to Fund Managers per SLA timelines.
• Respond to queries raised by internal stakeholders such as Fund Accounting, Middle Office, Cash and Settlements
• Respond to queries raised by external stakeholders such fund managers, auditors
• Meet reporting deadlines in accordance with the client’s
• Manage team in an effective way (leader)
• Lead enhancement project for cost saving

Qualifications/Requirement

• At least 4-5 years TA experience.
• Strong knowledge in TA business, products and workflow
• Familiarity with global markets – practices, regulations, industry trends and key industry segments
• Strong technical skills including accounting principles and theories
• Knowledge of operations for various kinds of funds including but not limited to Hedge funds, Mutual funds, REITs and ABS
• Detailed knowledge of business processes and procedures as well as service and systems (including downstream impacts)
• Candidate should be flexible ready to work in different shifts.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.

Education

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in accounting, finance, computer science, Business Admin and/or professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CA or equivalent)
