Job Summary

We are seeking two Transaction and Contracts Managers to support BNY’s Corporate Trust organization, working within either Conventional Debt or Structured Debt/Structured Finance. This is a specialized, client-facing role responsible for supporting new transactions from contract review through onboarding, account opening, and deal readiness.

The Transaction Managers will serve as a key point of coordination between clients, internal teams, relationship managers, operations, and legal counsel, ensuring transaction documentation is properly reviewed, onboarding requirements are completed, issues are resolved, and deals are ready to close on schedule. The team supports some of the largest and most sophisticated clients at BNY, making relationship management and the overall client experience critical to success.

This is a 12-month contract with potential for conversion to a full-time position based on performance and business needs. The role can sit in Houston, TX or Pittsburgh, PA, with 4 days onsite per week. Standard working hours are approximately 8:00 AM–5:00 PM CT.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transaction & Contract Management: Review complex transaction agreements and supporting documentation for new Corporate Trust business, including both BNY and client-provided contracts, to understand requirements and ensure transactions are properly structured for onboarding.
  • Client Onboarding & Deal Execution: Own assigned transactions through the onboarding process, ensuring required activities are completed so accounts are established and deals are operationally ready to close. This is transaction/client onboarding rather than a KYC-focused role.
  • Account Opening Coordination: Facilitate account-opening requirements associated with new transactions, including exposure to accounts involving foreign currencies and international markets.
  • Documentation & Amendments: Coordinate with internal and external legal teams when transaction documents require amendments, additional language, or other changes necessary to meet BNY and client requirements.
  • Client & Relationship Management: Serve as a client-facing resource throughout the transaction lifecycle, providing updates, managing expectations, resolving issues, and delivering a strong onboarding experience for some of the bank’s largest investment and fund-management clients.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Partner closely with legal counsel, operations, sales, relationship management, and other internal stakeholders to move transactions efficiently from a newly won opportunity through successful implementation.
  • Pipeline Management: Manage a high-volume pipeline of approximately 20–30 transactions, with individual transactions typically taking anywhere from a couple of weeks to approximately one month to complete.
  • Issue Resolution: Identify potential documentation, onboarding, or operational roadblocks and coordinate appropriate internal resources to resolve issues while maintaining client relationships and transaction timelines.
Qualifications
  • Experience within Corporate Trust, debt capital markets, structured debt/structured finance, commercial banking, financial services operations, or a closely related environment.
  • Experience with client onboarding, transaction management, account opening, or implementation processes within a financial institution.
  • Strong understanding of how to review and interpret contracts and transaction documentation; candidates do not need to be attorneys or possess end-to-end legal expertise.
  • Demonstrated client-facing and relationship-management experience, particularly with institutional or sophisticated financial-services clients.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume pipeline and multiple transactions simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving and issue-resolution skills in deadline-driven environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across clients, internal stakeholders, and legal teams.
  • Strong educational/professional background with the ability to operate independently in a complex financial-services environment.
Preferred Experience
  • Direct experience within Corporate Trust, Structured Debt, Structured Finance, or Debt Capital Markets.
  • Experience within commercial banking or financial-services operations involving complex client accounts or transactions.
  • Familiarity with investment managers, hedge fund managers, fund managers, or other large institutional clients.
  • Experience coordinating with internal and external legal counsel on transaction documentation and amendments.
  • Familiarity with foreign-currency accounts, foreign markets, and complex account-opening requirements.
  • Previous BNY experience or experience within a comparable large financial institution.
  • Experience managing onboarding or implementation pipelines where relationship management and client experience are key measures of success.
Why Join Us

This is an opportunity to join a specialized and highly integrated Corporate Trust team supporting significant transactions for some of BNY’s largest clients. The role provides exposure to complex debt and structured-finance transactions while building experience across contract management, client onboarding, account opening, relationship management, and transaction execution.
