Job summary

BDO USA is seeking a Transaction Advisory Services Managing Director in the Boston area to lead the TAS Center of Excellence and drive the national TAS strategy. You will originate new business, manage client engagements, and mentor staff while maintaining strong client relationships.

The role requires 10 years of financial statement experience (5+ in TAS), Big 4 or top firm background, and strong US GAAP expertise. Travel up to 50% may be required. Competitive compensation offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; focus in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance preferred
• MBA preferred
• Ten years of financial statement related professional services experience, with at least five years in TAS, required; carve-out experience preferred
• Prior experience with C-level personnel preferred
• Big 4 or top-tier consulting firm experience preferred
• CPA preferred
• Strong Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills required
• Demonstrated leadership and development skills
• Excellent project management and communication skills; ability to lead engagements and manage client relationships
• Solid knowledge of US GAAP

Responsibilities

• Oversee all functions of TAS Center of Excellence
• Lead new business origination efforts
• Coordinate cross-selling opportunities across BDO service lines
• Oversee client engagement teams to ensure delivery of quality services
• Lead complex deal related issues including quality of earnings adjustments and working capital analysis
• Oversee buy-side and sell-side mandates across engagements
• Enforce standards for quality and consistency; bring sophistication to client engagements
• Coach and mentor staff in due diligence, decision making, writing, and project management
• Ensure client expectations are met; maintain relationships and resolve issues
• Leverage firm-wide capabilities beyond TAS in client engagements
• Identify risks and communicate to clients
• Develop proposal documents and conduct client presentations
• Partner with BDO office management to promote TAS services
• Provide performance feedback to TAS team members
• Travel up to 50% as needed
• Other duties as required
