The Department of the Air Force Headquarters seeks an Education and Training Technician (GS-1702) to apply analytical methods to training needs, develop reports, and advise on program requirements. A graduate degree in a related field is required, with transcripts submitted as part of the application.
Candidates must have specialized experience at the GS-08 level or equivalent and knowledge of training policies, directives, and program management.
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions, for the GS-1702, Education and Training Technician Series.
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-08, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes skill in operating a computer and associate software. Skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to identify job functions and training requirements, consider requests for training, development, and course requirements, and resolve procedural problems with training requests and training quota allocations. Knowledge of organization management structure including administrative assignment of areas of responsibility based on assigned jobs, and to conduct qualitative analysis of work assigned to evaluate training requested and approve or disapprove requested training. Knowledge of military and civilian training requirements, programs, policies, and directives. Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing sufficient to: develop/deliver reports and correspondence: foster understanding/ acceptance of program requirements; presents arguments/advisory options.
Successfully completed graduate level education in a field directly related to this position which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. NOTE: You must submit a copy of transcripts.

Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-08 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.

Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
