Job summary

Steel Partners is seeking a Training Supervisor to oversee training across all departments and evaluate programs to ensure employees have the skills needed to perform their roles effectively. You will lead a team of on-the-job trainers and collaborate with the Training Manager and Training Coordinator.

The role requires 5+ years of manufacturing training experience, with strong emphasis on safety, teamwork, and program improvement. Salary is TBD; location is Alaska, with shift flexibility.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of training experience in manufacturing; textile experience a plus.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent; Advanced degree preferred.
• Computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to analyze training needs and measure effectiveness.
• Capable of working in a team environment; strong safety, work, and attendance record.
• Available to work any shift as required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct needs assessments to identify skill gaps and training requirements.
• Supervise and support on-the-job trainers (OJT) and trainees, ensuring high-quality instruction.
• Conduct hands-on technical training and certification of new hires including Forklift, Low Lift Hoist, and Lock Out Tag Out.
• Conduct classroom sessions for all affected associates.
• Ensure all training programs align with company policies, procedures, and industry regulations.
• Conduct weekly training evaluations for trainees.
• Conduct quarterly and end-of-training Demonstration of Ability for trainees.
• Provide coaching and performance feedback to OJTs.
• Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness through feedback.
• Assist with the development and rollout of training and development videos.

This role leads a team of on-the-job trainers (OJT) and works closely with the Training Manager and Training Coordinator to ensure that training programs are successful.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct needs assessments to identify skill gaps and training requirements.
• Supervise and support OJTs and trainees, ensuring high-quality instruction and delivery.
• Conduct hands-on technical training and certification of new hires and associates that have been awarded a new position including Forklift, Low Lift Hoist, and Lock Out Tag Out.
• Conduct classroom (Defect Class) sessions for all affected associates.
• Ensure all training programs align with company policies, procedures, and industry regulations.
