Job summary

NYs Office for People With Developmental Disabilities is seeking a Training Specialist Trainee/Mental Hygiene to develop and deliver major training programs, including PROMOTE and CPR, across institutional and community settings. You will coordinate New Employee Orientation, schedule instructors, monitor attendance, and provide ongoing support to training classes.

You will also manage SLMS administration, assist with course creation and data entry, and travel to support training needs.

Qualifications

• Four years of experience developing and delivering major segments of institution and community training programs to improve the knowledge and abilities of those caring for and treating individuals with mental illness or developmental disabilities in institutional and community settings.
• Five years of experience developing and delivering major segments of institution and community training programs to improve the knowledge and abilities of those caring for and treating individuals with mental illness or developmental disabilities in institutional and community settings.
• Six years of experience developing and delivering major segments of institution and community training programs to improve the knowledge and abilities of those caring for and treating individuals with mental illness or developmental disabilities in institutional and community settings.

Responsibilities

• Deliver training programs such as PROMOTE and CPR.
• Support and oversee New Employee Orientation (NEO), including scheduling instructors and monitoring attendance.
• Deliver NEO sessions as assigned.
• Become a SLMS secondary administrator and assist in class creation and data entry.
• Assist staff in navigating SLMS and maintain training materials.
• Set up classrooms and equipment and provide ongoing training support.
• Travel as needed to support training needs and coordinate continuing education.
