Job summary

Waters & Sims, a Merakey family company, seeks an Employment Training Specialist in Monmouth County, NJ to provide individualized training and support for adults with disabilities participating in NJDOL-funded services. You will help participants develop job-readiness, workplace skills, and independence through classroom, community, and workplace coaching.

Qualifications

• Experience working with adults with disabilities, preferably in employment services, vocational rehabilitation, supported employment, workforce development, or related human services.
• Strong case management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities effectively.
• Strong documentation and written communication.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with employers and community partners.

Responsibilities

• Assess strengths, interests, abilities, and employment goals and develop training strategies tailored to each participant’s needs.
• Focusing on job-readiness training, workplace skills development, communication and social skills, problem-solving, time management, technology and digital literacy, workplace safety, supported workplace learning, and other skills necessary for successful employment.
• Assisting individuals in applying learned skills in real-world environments, obtaining/maintaining employment, and increasing independence over time.
