Waters & Sims, a Merakey family company, seeks an Employment Training Specialist in Monmouth County, NJ to provide individualized training and support for adults with disabilities participating in NJDOL-funded services. Earn: $22.12 per hour, plus benefits and mileage reimbursement

Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours/week; 8:30 AM-4:30 PM

The Employment Training Specialist provides individualized employment training and support to adults with disabilities participating in NJDOL-funded services for the NJCIE grant. The position is responsible for helping individuals develop the skills, confidence, and workplace behaviors necessary to pursue competitive integrated employment and achieve greater independence in the workplace and community.They provide training in classroom, community, and workplace settings, working collaboratively with participants, employers, families’/support teams, and other service providers.

Key Responsibilities

• Assessing strengths, interests, abilities, and employment goals and develops training strategies tailored to each participant’s needs.
• Focusing on job-readiness training, workplace skills development, communication and social skills, problem-solving, time management, technology and digital literacy, workplace safety, supported workplace learning, and other skills necessary for successful employment.
