Job summary

Twenty Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians in Coachella, CA seeks a Training & Development Coordinator to coordinate, prepare, and present training programs under the Director Training & Development. Summary

This position is responsible for coordinating, preparing, and presenting training programs and activities under the supervision of the Director Training & Development and in direct support of the Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians and its Enterprises training initiatives. In addition, we strive to deliver our Five Star Experience to Guests and fellow Team Members. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide outstanding customer service to guests and all other employees by exceeding our mission statement.
  • Deliver our Five Star Experience to Guests and all Team Members by embodying our Mission Statement and Service Promise while adhering to department service standards. This entails consistency performing our service expectations of: Welcoming, Proactive, Seamless, Personalized and Valued.
  • Develops, implements and delivers training programs for all employees.
  • Develops, compiles and maintains training and support materials that may be used as resources once training has been completed that includes instructor materials course outlines, background material, instructional materials, and training aids.
  • Consults with property and division leadership to assess training needs.
  • Develops programs to meet the training needs of the property.
  • Evaluates procedures to monitor and analyze course effectiveness and update curriculum as needed.
  • Documents and understands policies/procedures for the property and department/division specific to include with training programs.
  • Provides training to targeted personnel including program administration (training materials, agendas, etc.).
  • Conducts presentations, workshops, and feedback sessions.
  • Assists in design of computer-based and multimedia curriculum.
  • Enhances technical instruction delivery and presentation skills.
  • Coaches and mentors’ other instructors in subject matter, content, and course delivery techniques.
  • Ensures the quality and consistency of course content throughout training program.
  • Plans and directs training, electronic learning, multimedia programs, and other computer aided instructional technologies, simulators, conferences and workshops as required.
  • Maintains inventory of training and presentation supplies including learning and lending library.
  • Works effectively with other members of the department as well as other members of Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians and its Enterprises.
  • Remains sensitive to the interrelationships of both people and functions within the department and the relationships with other departments
  • Knowledgeable about current promotions and special events; able to educate and support all team members in developing and retaining customer centric information
  • Ensure compliance with all Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS) as well as all Tribal Internal Control Standards (TICS).
  • Present a positive image of the Tribal organization to its guests and vendors and to assist them as required.
  • Must follow all safety policies and procedures and attend all scheduled safety meetings and training as a condition of employment.
  • Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Supervisory Responsibilities

This job does not require supervisory duties.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate Degree in Training and Development, Instructional Design, Education or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) to three (3) years in direct training & development capacity. Demonstrated knowledge of training and development, instructional design, teaching, information technology and/or related work required.
  • Or an equivalent combination of relevant education, experience, and training.
Certification, Licenses and Any Additional Requirements
  • Must pass periodic random drug screens.
  • Must be able to pass background suitability investigation.
  • Must obtain a Tribal Gaming License.
  • Must obtain all other applicable certifications and licenses.
  • Must provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States within 72 hours of employment.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Employee may be occasionally required to work in low light conditions, and may be exposed to loud noise for extended periods.

Work Environment
  • Multiple locations.
  • Some enterprises are open 24 hours per day, 7 days per week; therefore, you must be flexible to work any and all hours.
  • Must be available for emergency calls 24/7.
  • Must be available to work weekend and holidays.
  • Some enterprises are gaming facilities.
  • Some enterprises are not a smoke-free environment.
  • Surveillance cameras and audio equipment monitor the premises recording activity throughout most of the facilities on 24 hours per day, 7 days per week basis.
