We are looking for a Training Specialist who brings a consultative mindset, creativity, and curiosity about how learning is changing. This role will partner with leaders, subject matter experts, HR, and employees to understand performance and development needs and turn them into practical, engaging learning solutions.

Rather than relying primarily on traditional classroom training, this role will help us expand how employees learn through virtual learning, digital resources, self-directed learning, on-the-job tools, microlearning, and AI-enabled learning experiences.

You will play an important role in employee onboarding and development while also helping us experiment with new technologies and approaches that make learning easier to access, easier to apply, and more relevant to employees' work.

What You'll Do
  • Lead the design, development, implementation, and ongoing management of an enterprise-wide onboarding program that creates a consistent and engaging experience for new hires across all divisions and functions.
  • Partner with hiring managers and HR teams to develop onboarding resources, and coordinate learning activities.
  • Analyze organizational and training needs to develop new programs or enhance existing learning solutions.
  • Arrange and promote technical, professional, leadership, and other development opportunities across the organization.
Learning Design, Development & Delivery
  • Consult with business partners and subject matter experts to understand learning needs and determine the most effective approach.
  • Design, develop, and deliver engaging learning experiences using adult learning principles and a variety of delivery methods, including virtual instructor-led training, classroom training, e-learning, blended learning, microlearning, and on-the-job learning.
  • Facilitate high-quality virtual and in-person learning experiences, adapting delivery techniques to the audience, content, and learning objectives.
  • Create learning environments that encourage employees to participate, practice, problem-solve, collaborate, and apply what they learn.
  • Translate complex or technical information into learning experiences that are clear, practical, engaging, and easy to apply on the job.
  • Develop presentations, facilitator guides, participant resources, job aids, activities, simulations, and other learning materials.
  • Use Articulate, AI, and other learning technologies to create and enhance digital and facilitator-led learning experiences.
  • Adapt traditional instructor-led content into effective virtual, blended, and self-directed learning experiences where appropriate.
  • Partner with subject matter experts and internal trainers to prepare them to effectively deliver learning content when programs need to scale.
  • Gather feedback and evaluate learning effectiveness to continuously improve both content and delivery.
  • Manage relationships with external training vendors, including sourcing, contracting, coordinating, and evaluating vendor performance and quality.
  • Review and curate the OpenSesame content library to ensure course offerings remain current, relevant, and aligned with organizational and employee development needs.
  • Coordinate external training programs, conferences, and professional development opportunities.
  • Administer the Education Assistance Program, providing support and guidance to employees pursuing continuing education and professional certifications.
  • Identify opportunities to improve training programs, processes, delivery methods, and learner experiences.
  • Use data, feedback, technology, and emerging learning practices to continuously improve learning solutions.
  • Bring innovative thinking to the development and delivery of learning programs.
  • Stay current on trends, technologies, and best practices in learning and development.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Training & Development, Instructional Design, Education or a related field.

  • Experience supporting onboarding or employee development programs is a plus.
Required Skills & Abilities
  • Strong understanding of adult learning and instructional design principles with the ability to translate them into practical learning experiences.
  • Ability to conduct learning needs analysis and determine when training is, or is not, the right solution.
  • A consultative mindset with the ability to listen, ask effective questions, and recommend solutions based on business and learner needs.
  • Strong virtual facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Ability to simplify complex information and create resources that employees can easily understand and apply.
  • Curiosity and willingness to experiment with AI and emerging learning technologies.
  • Experience using AI tools to improve learning design, content development, productivity, or the learner experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with leaders, HR partners, subject matter experts, trainers, and employees.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Comfortable testing ideas, gathering feedback, learning from what works and what does not, and continuously improving solutions.
  • Adaptable and comfortable working in an evolving learning environment.
Working Conditions
  • Primarily an office environment with hybrid flexibility of up to two remote days per week.
