Job summary

REM Community Services, part of the Sevita family, is hiring a Training and Development Specialist to lead training programs that support field operations across our service areas. You will develop curriculum, identify skill gaps with management, and create instructional materials to help staff perform at their best.

The role emphasizes delivering training through various formats—classroom, one-on-one, teleconferencing, and digital platforms—while collaborating with HR and leadership to address

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree is required.
  • One year of related experience preferred.
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification as required by state.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintains course curriculum.
  • Confer with management and staff to identify skill gaps and training objectives.
  • Design, create, and update training aids such as manuals and handouts.
  • Deliver instruction using multiple modalities (one-on-one, classroom, teleconference, web-based, computer-based).
  • Confer with management and HR to identify additional training needs for new staff.
  • Ensure ongoing feedback of training programs and modify as needed.
  • Prepare and facilitate client-specific and clinical training plus new hire orientation, CPR, and medical administration.
  • Provide input regarding procedures and practices pertaining to agency training.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends and recommend updates to training programs.

Training and Development Specialist


Do you have experience in training and development and want to work for a company that actively improves the lives of the individuals it serves? In the Training and Development Specialist role, you will be an important part of our commitment to serve others by facilitating the training programs that support field operations.




  • Develop and maintains course curriculum

  • Confer with management and staff to identify specific skill/knowledge gaps, training objectives, work situations, and changes in policies and procedures

  • Design, create, and update training aids, such as manuals, handouts, course exercises, and visual aids

  • Deliver instruction using multiple modalities including one-on-one, classroom, teleconferencing, web-based training, and computer-based training

  • Confer with management, internal training consultants, and HR to identify additional training needs, as required for new staff

  • Ensure ongoing feedback of training programs and modify programs as needed

  • Prepare and facilitate client-specific and clinical type training in addition to new hire orientation, CPR, and medical administration

  • Provide input regarding the formulation and modification of procedures and practices pertaining to agency training

  • Maintain current knowledge of organizational and industrial trends and make appropriate recommendations for new or updated training programs



Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • One year of related experience preferred

  • Current CPR/First Aid Certification as required by state

  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task to meet deadlines

  • Effective communication skills to manage relationships

  • Self-motivated and collaborative; a team player
