Job Details

Exciting Opportunity at MSK: The Research Animal Resource Center’s Education and Quality Assurance department seeks a Training and QA Specialist to handle compliance inspections and lead the implementation of the hazardous material program.

Role Overview:

  1. Promote a culture of compliance aligned with institutional policies, goals, and objectives.
  2. Conduct quality assurance reviews of the animal care program and research laboratories.
  3. Prepare reports on non-compliance issues and work on resolutions.
  4. Collaborate with RARC departments and research teams to communicate policies and provide education.
  5. Develop and deliver training and orientation sessions.
  6. Provide hands-on training on rodent handling and surgical procedures.
  7. Assess technical skills and offer expertise in rodent procedures.
  8. Assist in developing SOPs related to compliance and training.

Key Qualifications:

  1. 4-7 years of experience in research support, compliance, or training related to animal models.
  2. Veterinary Technician education, bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience.
  3. Certification at the AALAS LAT level.
  4. Proven experience in rodent procedures and surgical techniques.
  5. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  6. Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Core Skills:

  1. Experience with IACUC administration preferred.
  2. Basic knowledge of occupational health requirements.
  3. Experience with hazard safety requirements preferred.

Additional Information:

  1. Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8am – 4pm onsite
  2. Location: 417 E. 68th Street
  3. Reporting to: Michelle Eckstein

Pay Range: $67,900.00-$105,300.00
