ACT Power Services is seeking an Onboarding and Training Specialist to develop, coordinate, and deliver training programs for ARCC Operators and Engineers and to support onboarding at new sites. The role focuses on SCADA validation, training material creation, and LMS content development within a hybrid work setting at multiple sites.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, strong communication and facilitation skills, and a solid grasp of SCADA/DAS systems,

Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills
Solid understanding of SCADA systems, DAS platforms, relay functional diagrams, and single-line diagrams (SLDs)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Excellent organizational and project management skills; able to manage multiple onboarding and training initiatives
Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) is a plus
Self-starter capable of working independently and collaboratively across teams

Responsibilities

Coordinate onboarding for new sites with internal teams and external stakeholders
Assist with SCADA validation and testing for sites in commissioning phases
Create and update training materials including manuals, SOPs, quick reference guides, and LMS content
Develop, maintain, and deliver training programs for ARCC Operators and Engineers covering procedures, SCADA, DAS, and related processes
Track and maintain training records for ARCC staff and ensure compliance with requirements
Conduct periodic training audits and site readiness assessments
Stay current with industry best practices, and NERC/FERC requirements relevant to remote operations

The Onboarding and Training Specialist will be responsible for the development, coordination, and delivery of training programs for ACT Remote Control Center (ARCC) Operators and Engineers. This role will also support onboarding activities for new sites, ensuring seamless integration into ACT’s operational standards and procedures.

Responsibilities

Support new site onboarding by coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure readiness of systems, documentation, and personnel
Assist with SCADA validation and testing for sites in commissioning phases
Create and update training materials including manuals, standard operating procedures (SOPs), quick reference guides, and LMS content
Develop, maintain, and deliver comprehensive training programs for ARCC Operators and Engineers, covering operational procedures, SCADA systems, DAS platforms, electrical technical knowledge and relevant internal processes
Track and maintain training records for all ARCC Operators and Engineers, ensuring compliance with training requirements and certifications
Conduct periodic training audits and site readiness assessments to ensure adherence to ACT operational standards
Stay current with industry best practices, NERC/FERC requirements, and emerging technologies relevant to remote control center operations

Requirements

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills
Solid understanding of SCADA systems, DAS platforms, relay functional diagrams, and single-line diagrams (SLDs)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple onboarding and training initiatives simultaneously
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related software; experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) is a plus
Self-starter capable of working independently and collaboratively across teams without continuous oversight

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Education, Instructional Design, Physics., Environmental Science, Technology, or a related field, or an additional 2+ years of industry-related experience in lieu of degree
Prior experience with ARCC or similar remote control center operations strongly preferred
Experience supporting site onboarding or commissioning activities is a plus
