Primary Purpose

To serve as a Special Warfare Technical Training Instructor performing high risk land-based water-related activities, supporting military/civilian course curriculum development, in advanced physical fitness, high-intensity water skills, and/or specialty/supplemental requirements in support of the Special Warfare community.

Conditions of Employment

This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety Employee is required to wear all uniforms provided by the employer and must wear and maintain uniform items in accordance with specified standards. The employee will be expected to maintain grooming standards and present a professional image at all time Employee is required to work an uncommon tour of duty. This position mandates irregular work schedules with night and/or weekend training activities (e.g., employee may be required to work 12 hrs/day, five days per week and often at night) Employee must successfully maintain annual/recurring training requirements specified for the position and provided by employer. Education and Training

This is a Mission Essential (ME) position performing a Mission Critical Function (MCF) which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions Minimum of an Associate's Degree from a regionally or nationally accredited post-secondary institution in the discipline or in combination with appropriate work experience (1Z AFSC specific or Technical Training Instructor CCAF degree) and the methods and techniques of instruction is highly desirable Instructor Supervisor and Master Instructor highly desirable A pre-employment physical is a condition of employment.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, to include the Individual Occupational Requirements (IOR) for the GS-1712, Training Instruction series.

BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT

This is a Community College Air Force position (CCAF) FOR COMMUNITY COLLEGE OF THE AIR FORCE GS-1712 POSITIONS: Section 9315 of 10 USC directs the commander of the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) to comply with standards established by the Secretary of Education to confer associate degrees upon enlisted members who have completed the requirements for the prescribed programs of study.

To comply with this directive, all faculty members of the Community College of the Air Force must meet minimum educational requirements as prescribed by the accrediting body Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Colleges (SACS-COC), i.e. all teachers must hold at least an associate's degree in order for the school to meet accreditation criteria.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE

Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-09, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes Teaching or instructing in an adult education program, secondary school, college, military installation, or industrial establishment in the appropriate field(s); Supervising or administering a training program; Development or review of training/course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of training results; Work in the occupation or subject-matter field of the position to be filled that required training or instructing others on a regular basis.
